Welcome to Worcester Women’s Golf at Ravenmeadow.

The Group Coaching Classes are resuming on Wednesday 8th & Thursday 9th July 2020. The current limit is for a group of 6 but this also includes me as the Coach, there are therefore 5 spaces available each week. To book and pay for your place click on the button link below.

The program is designed specifically for women who want to learn or improve their golf. We will cover all the basics and the shots you need to learn with all the different clubs. The classes will be fun and a great way to meet some local like-minded Women that you can enjoy the journey and then to hopefully be playing partners on the course too!

The sessions are at Ravenmeadow Golf Centre in Worcester which has the perfect relaxed attitude and friendly culture so you’ll feel welcome and comfortable coming to learn Golf here.  All sessions will be in a group (max group size: 5).  There is no need to worry about dress code or equipment as everything is provided for you so you can just turn up in anything comfortable and enjoy the experience meeting other local Women looking for the same as you!

I want to provide a unique golfing community for Women in Worcester of all ages and abilities. I’m welcoming everyone into this new, exciting and friendly environment

1. Perhaps the kids are at school and you want to get out and do something for you?

2. Maybe you have some spare time or are retired and are looking for a healthy activity that you can enjoy for the rest of your life?

3. Maybe you’re a younger woman looking to take up a new sport that you can enjoy for the rest of your life?

All the equipment is provided and you certainly do not need to have any previous experience or need to buy any golf clothing & equipment to join us. You’ll just arrive at the club to park in any space you wish, I’ll lend you equipment each week and wearing any clothing your warm and comfortable in and I, like everyone else you’ll meet will welcome you whenever you want to play & learn Golf here.

There will be 2 groups each week, the same subject will be covered in the 2 sessions each week and once enrolled you’re welcome to come to either of the 2 or both each week. Scroll down the page to see the weekly coaching schedule, no matter when you join in what you learn will be tailored to your individual needs so joining in as a complete beginner after a few months is no problem at all. We’ll run through the all important set up positions so you can be reminded or learn the importance of having a good Grip, Posture and Alignment as all 3 have such an influence on your swing.

Wednesday 15th & Thursday 16th July

The Swing
Venue & Clubs – Driving Range / A Selection of your Choice

Wether you’re learning from scratch or you’re coming back to coaching and playing after some time off in this session we’ll focus on the Golf Swing.

Wednesday 22nd & Thursday 23rd July

Build a Solid Routine
Venue & Clubs – The Driving Range – A Selection of your Choice

Your Swing is a lot more than the 1 second you take making the movement to strike the ball. Watching a good Golfer they take some time to prepare for the shot they are going to play. In setting up perfectly and selecting the right shot for the conditions and distance you face. This 10-15 second preparation has a huge influence over the confidence and quality of your swing.

Wednesday 29th & Thursday 30th July

The Short Game
Venue & Clubs – The Putting Green / Putter – 9 Iron & SW

We’ll look at how to Putt and playing the short shots when your ball is beside the green. Often an overlooked skill but the Putter is one club thats used more than all the others.

Wednesday 5th & Thursday 6th August

The Driver
Venue & Clubs -Driving Range / The Driver

The most satisfying shot to play successfully we’ll look at the changes you make to your set up to start the hole with a good Drive thats hopefully going a long way down the fairway.

Wednesday 12th & Thursday 13th August

Venue & Clubs – Driving Range – A Club Selection of your choice

Hitting the ball harder often causes miss strikes and poor accuracy. Striking the ball well is what delivers power so we’ll look at the influential principles in your Swing along with getting some consistency in your ball striking too.

Wednesday 19th & Thursday 20th August

Venue & Clubs – Driving Range – A section of your choice

The main frustration of most Golfers is being unable to do something similar consistently on the course. We’ll look at what delivers consistency and how you can change your approach on the course to deliver more for you when playing too.

Wednesday 26th & Thursday 27th August

Fairway Woods
Venue & Clubs – Driving Range – Rescue Clubs & Fairway Woods

When you’re a long way fromt he green these are the clubs to use to hit the ball as far as possible. We change our set up position and we’ll find out which one out of these clubs works the best to deliver success for you.

Wednesday 2nd & Thursday 3rd September

Identify your Strengths and Weaknesses
Venue & Clubs – Driving Range – The Clubs you’re bad at using

Many people tend to go and practice and practice the shots their good at, this adds more enjoyment to your practice session but it doesn’t improve the problems you have on the course. We’ll identify the weaknesses in your bag and swing so you know what to practice to make your game stronger on the course.

Wednesday 9th & Thursday 10th September

The Short Game
Venue & Clubs -The Chipping Green – 9 Iron & SW

We’ll look at the right set up, ball position, club selection and swing to control the flight of the ball and strike it consistently from the occasionally wet fairway. This is a different skill to when the ground is dry and bouncy but when striking the ball well a little easier as it stopping soon after landing is far more predictable on the wetter greens.

Wednesday 16th & Thursday 17th September

Playing Golf
Venue & Clubs – The Golf Course

Here we’ll look at how you bring all the skills you’ve learned together to successfully play Golf on the course.

Wednesday 23rd & Thursday 24th September

Your Swing
Venue & Clubs – Driving Range – A Selection of your Choice

We’ll take a look at what you do well and badly to identify the things to think about and practice to improve your consistency.
