Seniors Group Coaching

Every Friday 10-11am all year
Our Seniors group sessions provides instruction to Golfers of any abilities. The programme covers the whole variety of shots and skills you need to be confident, consistent and score well during a round. Classes are really enjoyable with social and friendly Seniors living around Worcester and many members of Ravenmeadow.

Friday 5th October 10-00am-11-00am – Chipping & Pitching

Venue & Clubs – Driving Range & The former 10th green / 9 Iron, PW & SW

We will talk about the importance of set-up and particularly the changes you need to made in your shot choice set up and swing now the wetter ground conditions are fast approaching. Selecting the right shot and keeping things simple is key to scoring well when you’re approaching or beside the green. This clinic will give you the tools to practice the right way to lower your scores from improving the most influential area of the game.

Gain Yards While Hitting More Fairways!   

Venue & Clubs – Driving Range / Driver & Fairway Woods

We will cover short & medium range bunker shots looking at the set up & swinging without fear! We’ll talk about the design and technology of your SW and how when used properly it easily delivers success in striking through the sand.

Friday 26th October 10-00am-11-00am – Your Iron Striking & Swing

Venue & Clubs – Driving Range / A Selection of your Irons

We will talk about the importance of set-up and in particular the key role that ball position plays in striking the ball well and on the desired trajectory. We’ll look at playing from a few different lies, including the sloping ones you might encounter on the course.

Friday 2nd November  – Leo away – Practice Week!

Friday 9th November 10-00am-11-00am – Power

Venue & Clubs – Driving Range – A Club Selection of your choice

Now the wetter ground conditions are here it’s important to fly the ball through the air so we’ll look at what you need to do in your swing to build power and get your ball flying high to cover the wetter ground now the ball isn’t running as far when it would hitting it lower in the Summer.

Friday 16th November 10-00am-11-00am – Putting

Venue & Clubs – The Course – Putter & 9 Iron

Although not often thought of when wishing to improve the Putter is the most used Club in your bag and taking too many Putts on a few or many greens has a huge influence over your score. We’ll look at the stroke and the skills you need to save shots when you’re close to or on the green.

Friday 23rd November 10-00am-11-00am – Playing from the Rough

Venue & Clubs – Range/Pitch & Putt Course – Rescue, 7 Iron, 9 Iron & SW

With the thick and wet rough its a far more punishing place to be in the Winter than when the grass gets short and dry in the Summer. We’ll look at analysing your lie, selecting the right club and the changes you can make to your set up and swing to get the ball back in a good position once you’ve found all sorts of lies in the rough while on the course.

Friday 30th November 10-00am-11-00am – Playing from the fairway & in the Wind

Venue & Clubs – Driving Range – A Club Selection of your choice

With preferred but sometimes muddy and wet lies we’ll look at what you need to do to strike the shot well, what clubs to choose and how to vary the flight of your approach shots into the green to deal with any windy conditions trying to deviate your ball.

Friday 7th December 10-00am-11-00am – Identify your Strengths & Weaknesses

Venue & Clubs – Driving Range – Bring the clubs your good and bad at using

Many people tend to go and practice and practice the shots their good at, this adds more enjoyment to your practice session but it doesn’t improve the problems you have on the course. We’ll identify the weaknesses in your bag and swing so you know what to practice to make your game stronger on the course.

Friday 14th December 10-00am-11-00am – Pitching

Venue & Clubs – Former 10th Green – 9 Iron – PW – SW

We’ll look at the right set up, ball position, club selection and swing to control the flight of the ball and strike it consistently from the occasionally wet fairway. This is a different skill to when the ground is dry and bouncy but when striking the ball well a little easier as it stopping soon after landing is far more predictable on the wetter greens.
